Safety & Risk Management
Whether in the shop, field or office, JMI arranges for daily safety inspections, annual audits and ongoing worksite analysis to ensure the implementation of our Safety & Risk Management program.
A Western Washington - Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) trade union member, Johansen Mechanical's team consists of skilled metal workers who design, fabricate and install HVAC & Mechanical Systems & Controls, and both Architectural and Custom Metals.
Through the Western Washington Sheet Metal JATC Apprenticeship program, upcoming craftsmen and metal artisans receive practical experience with on the job and class-room training on the new equipment & software programs.
The 4-year apprenticeship training program produces some of the best craftsmen within the Pacific Northwest. Quality union workmanship means faster completion of projects and the flexibility to implement creative concepts in construction and custom metal work. Courses emphasize the principles of sheet metal, equipment operation, materials, site preparation, health & safety, and maintenance.
Committed to making contractors the safest in the industry, training begins with OSHA 10-30 hour training provided via the Western Washington Sheet Metal JATC Apprenticeship program. However, on their first day, new, inexperienced, and/or returning hires are required to participate in JMI's Safety & Risk Management Orientation.
Johansen Mechanical’s team of overlapping capabilities doesn’t end at the pass-through from apprentice to journeyman. JMI’s Employee Development program helps continue to advance skills and certifications to implement innovative results. These results, have enabled continued growth within our team and an expansion of our portfolio.
JMI's portfolio encompasses the entire building envelop, which include but not limited to Commercial HVAC and Air Quality, Automation System Monitoring & Controls, Architectural Sheet Metal, Kitchens/Food Services, Medical/Healthcare and Custom Metal products.
